Beauty // Tuesday’s FOTD

 FOTD - Makeup look Laura Laura

It’s been a long time since I’ve done a Face Of The Day! Usually these end up on Instagram as it’s super easy to post it while I’m getting ready for work and then tag in companies that I’ve used! Today though, I thought I’d share what I used on my face from last weeks Tuesday…

// Base
To start the day off right I always cleanse and moisturise, usually with my Dermalogica Cream Cleanser and my Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion which exfoliates. My face moisturiser varies, as I have a few on the go at any one time. The moisturisers that I like to use are for dry skin, as I have patches, and ones that have a good SPF count in them.

After cleaning myself up, I apply a primer – Dermalogica’s Redness Relief Primer comes to the rescue most mornings as my cheeks are naturally quite rosy and this tones them down. Sometimes I’ll use their Age Smart primer on my forehead if its looking really wrinkly and dehydrated.

I’m currently in between foundations as my beloved Double Wear ran out and I’m contemplating a repurchase or moving on to something else. In the meantime I’m using a drugstore foundation, Maybelline Fit Me in 120. This is definitely my face colour, but I have to blend it heaps on my neck to match my chest colour – I can’t wait for this summer sun to turn up so I can brown up a bit!

// Eyes + Brows
On my eyes I have a mixture of the lightest three colours from the E.l.f. Prism Eyeshadow in Naked which I got from iHerb. I wasn’t expecting the colour pigment in this palette to be that great, but it’s pretty good, especially when applying wet. It’s also easy to blend with. (If you haven’t used iHerb before, you can get up to $10 off is you use my affiliate code: DRV302.)

Eyeliner times two in this look! This is stepping out of the comfort zone for me as normally I don’t wear any eyeliner. I popped a beige colour on my waterline, and then a black liner from the outer of my eye to about the centre of my eye, smudging it with my finger. Both of these are Marsk organic kohl eyeliners which I got separately in the Lust Have It subscription boxes.

I finish off with Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara, which is such a great mascara – it does a great job of lifting and curling. It’s easy to remove on my sensitive eyes too.

On my brows I’m using Benefit’s Brow Zings in Medium, which gives a browny-red-caramel colour which I think works well. I’m tempted to get their Dark kit for bolder brows. I got both of these Benefit products at Smith & Caugheys.

// Cheeks
We’re almost done! On my cheeks I applied the blush from E.l.f.’s St Lucia Blush and Bronzer kit (also from iHerb but I’ve seen it at Kmart), and just above that I place a good lashing of my new favourite product, Mary Lou-manizer Highlighter which I grabbed online at makeup.co.nz.

// Lips
On my lips is a colour I grabbed from a discount makeup store in the Auckland Downtown mall, Love my Makeup, great store! Anyway, it’s MegaLast Lip Color in Sand Storm.

To finish I applied a little bronzer on my forehead and chin for a little bit of colour. As you can probably tell my hair didn’t want to play nice, but at least my face looks good šŸ˜‰

    Thanks for this post Laura! I love seeing how others do their makeup and what they use. You look great šŸ˜€

    • Cheers @melissapeaks:disqus! It was quite fun writing down what I did / do most mornings, might try and do some more of these more frequently to see if I change at all šŸ˜› Doubt it!

  • You look beautiful!

  • So pretty! Your eyebrows look great and so natural-looking. Love the lip colour too.

    • Thanks so much @astylecollector:disqus xx
      I love my eyebrows so much haha – and yes, this lip colour is actually all thanks to my workmate Karin who bought it for herself and said I should grab myself one as it would suit me perfectly. She’s the queen of picking lip colours for people!

  • Love the naturalness of this look, very flattering and pretty.

    • Thanks so much @Thedreamfactoryblog:disqus šŸ™‚ It’s my usual work face, so natural is what I was going for!

      • It work really well. I imagine too if you wanted to go out after work, just flick on a bold eyeshadow or lip and you’re good to go! (I mean, it looks good enough as is to go out, but I know personally I like to touch up my daytime makeup before going out again).

        I’ll have to check out Lovemymakeup if I ever get to go to auck anytime soon

  • Gorgeous!!

  • You stunner šŸ˜€
